DEPECHE MODE

Post by Rev. Cecil B. Demented on Thu Jan 22, 2009 9:45 pm

cyclops ONE CANNOT TALK ABOUT THE MUSIC OF THE 80'S WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT DEPECHE MODE. THE U.K. SYNTH BAND BROKE THE MOLD. YET, HERE IN THE U.S., WHILE THEY WERE CERTANLY NOT UNKNOWN, THE BAND NEVER RECIEVED MAINSTREAM SUCCESS AND RADIO AIRPLAY UNTIL THE EARLY 1990'S, WITH THE RELEASE OF "VIOLATOR. THE FIRST SINGLE FROM THIS ALBUM,"ENJOY THE SILENCE" WENT AGAINST THE GRUNGY MUSICAL STYLE THAT WAS DOMINATING THE CHARTS AND AIRWAVES AT THE TIME. DM WENT FROM A BRITISH "GARAGE BAND" TO SELLING MILLIONS OF ALBUMS AND TICKETS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
DEPECHE MODE ARE TRUE 80'S ICONS...... cyclops
